Savita Dalal Sports Career
At the time when she was selected for the U17 wrestling team, she was quite confident about her performance in the tournament. She defeated Japan’s Konami Ono in three rounds by 8-6 points in the final match of the championship. Savita Dalal is the only player in the wrestling team India in the category of 61 KG, who won the gold medal. She also helped team India to grab the third position in the overall performance in the championship with one gold 3 silver, and two bronze medals.
She was congratulated by the vice chancellor of Chandigarh University after winning the gold medal and making the entire nation feel proud in the world of wrestling. Savita Dalal was talented and showed her ability to become a wrestler in her school days. Her family backed her up and let the baby girl practice hard. Savita Dalal started competing in local school competitions and won local titles at school age. Later she was selected for the national team for the Haryana state in Junior National Championship. Her performance in the state-level competition provided her the chance to become a member of the team of the U17 World Wrestling Championship.
