Political Career of S Jaishankar
Jaishankar started his political career in the year 1977 by joining the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), after obtaining his M.Phil degree. He then joined the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). He has held various positions like First Secretary, Joint Commissioner, High Commissioner, and Ambassador. In the year 1980, S. Jaishankar was promoted to the second secretary. S. Jaishankar’s first international posting was in Moscow, Russia and he was posted there as the third secretary. Thereafter, he returned to India in the year 1981 and worked as an Under Secretary in the US Division of the State Department.
From the year 2004 to 2007 S. Jaishankar was part of the delegation that negotiated the US-India civil nuclear deal. In the year 2013, S.
