Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Maulana Azad Scholarship candidates must meet some eligibility criteria. The very first, the candidate should belong to a designated minority community which are Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Parsis. The candidate should belong to one of these minority communities.

Secondly, the candidate must possess a result of more than 50% in the previous standard. If the candidate is not meeting these criteria, he/she will not be eligible for the scholarship.

Moreover, the annual income of the candidate’s family should be under 1 lakh per annum for eligibility. As this scholarship is for the poor and weaker sections of the given minority communities. Also, transgender candidates can apply for the scholarship if the candidate fulfills all the required criteria.

The UGC (University Grant Commission) is presenting Maulana Azad National Fellowship to the students of minority communities. Candidates can apply online through the official portal of UGC. Here is the application process for Maulana Azad Scholarship 2023:

Maulana Azad Scholarship Amount

There are two segments for scholarship amount. The first one is for classes 9th to 10th and the second one is for classes 11th to 12th. The students of classes 9th and 10th are given an amount of ₹ 5000 per year. On the other hand, students of classes 11th and 12th are given an amount of ₹6000 per year.
