Design and Model of Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Earlier the design of Ram Mandir was prepared in 1988 by the Sompura Family of Ahmedabad. But now the temple is constructed in Nagara Style of temple Structure. In the Nagara Style, the Temple is generally constructed on an upraised platform called jati. The temple will now have a shikhara over the sanctum sanctorum and five domes instead of the earlier plan of two domes. The superstructure of the Ram Mandir will be made of carved Rajasthan Banshi Paharpur stone. The pink marble is also used in the construction of the temple which is rarely found, and its requirement is 4 lakh sq ft of stones.

Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Trust has credited M/S C.B. Sampura Temple Architect who conceived the design of the grand temple. The estimated cost for the construction of Ram Mandir is almost Rs.18,000 crores.
