TS Ambedkar Overseas Scholarship is a financial assistance scheme announced by Telangana Government’s Tribal Welfare Department and SC Development for its students belonging to SC, ST categories willing to pursue Higher Education Abroad. The scheme aims to empower the economically disadvantaged and deserving students of SC and ST categories and assist them in exploring global learning experiences.

Eligibility for TS Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scholarship

Income Criteria: Annual income of the applicant’s family (Student and Parent ) should not exceed 5 lahks per annum.
Residential criteria: Applicant must be a permanent resident of Telangana
Number of applicants from a family eligible for scholarship: Only one.
Age criteria: 35 years as on 1st July 2024.
Who can apply: Candidates who have secured 60% of marks in Engineering Management, Pure Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Medical & Nursing, Social Sciences, and Humanities in their graduation.
Should have an eligible score in GMAT/GRE, valid TOEFL / IELTS, and English proficiency test as per GO. ( Minimum scores – TOEFL – 60, IELTS – 6, GRE – 260, GMAT – 500)

10% of scholarships are reserved for Humanities, Economics, Accounts, Arts, and Law students.
Weightage on the basis of which merit will be generated and scholarships be given –

Degree marks – 60 percent
GRE/GMAT – 20 percent
IELTS/TOEFL – 20 percent

Minimum 60 % marks in Graduation are compulsory for pursuing Post Graduation and similarly first division marks in Post graduation for pursuing Ph.D. abroad.
A salary certificate from the employer is a must if the candidate applying for this scholarship is working.
Candidates selected have to join the University within 1 year of selection, failing which their candidature will be canceled, with no option of extension.
Once a course is chosen, it cannot be changed.
Responsibility for obtaining a visa, once they’re selected under the scheme, is of the student.
